Mike Borrett Flying Snow Goose

Rare and striking wood carved life-size goose. Borrett does a phenomenal job employing the perfect mix of ornithological accuracy and folk art carving technique. The goose has carved primary feathers on the top sides of the wings with deep chipping and gouging across the rest of the wing surface to impart realism. The tail feathers are carved on the top and bottom. The goose has a band on one of its inserted wood carved feet. The feet are tucked and clasped close as would be natural in flight. The neck has gouged striations mimicking the feathering on a real snow goose neck. The head has glass eyes and an intricately carved bill. The piece has Borrett and the year it was made carved into a primary flight feather on the right wing.

Condition: Very good and original with some discoloration from age.
