Capt. George W. Combs Sr. (1911-1992) Freeport, Long Island, NY c.1938 14" long

From the makers personal rig and so bears his 'G.W Combs' brand in the underside just below the inletted lead poured weight. The balsa bodied decoy is plump and well shaped. A largely smooth bodied decoy except for a deep ice line that extends a few inches beyond the base of the back of the neck. A rig mate to this bird was gifted to the Shelburne Museum in Vermont.

Condition: Good and structurally sound. The black and white paint has a second working coat, however it appears the decorative paint on the back is entirely original. Some roughness to the tail edge.
