Wendell Gilley Miniature Turned-head Goldeneye Drake

Wendell Gilley (1904-1983) Southwest Harbor, ME, c. 1950 3 1/2 in. tall

This goldeneye exhibits slightly raised wing carving and highly unusual miniature glass eyes. The carving is faintly signed "W.H. Gilley" in pencil on the bottom of the base. A straight-head example resides in the Wendell Gilley Museum. Original paint with minimal wear and minor touch-up to neck seam.
