Gus Wilson Early Black Duck

Augustus Wilson (1864-1950) South Portland, ME, c. 1910 Exhibiting a 45 degree turned head with carved eyes and carved raised wings. Traditional inletted head. Two inset wood patches original to the carving. The bill has old worn original paint, the rest of the decoy is in gunning repaint worn to the wood in a few small areas. Several age lines and cracks and a tail chip to this old gunning bird.
