The catalog record

Frank Adams (1871-1944) West Tisbury, Martha's Vineyard, MA, c. 1910 An early decoy with carved eyes, an incised bill outline, and original rigging. Adams decoys with this attitude and condition are incredibly difficult to obtain. This example ranks among the maker's best work. A serifed "V" is incised on the underside. Original paint with gunning wear and some professional touch-up to worn wood areas on back and lower right flank.
