Verity Family Verity Family Plover

Verity Family Seaford, Long Island, NY, c. 1880 11 1/2 in. long

This decoy displays exciting variations not often seen in the Seaford school of carving. The pose is in a distinct down-looking position. The wing tips are crossed and the shoulders have special carved treatment with sharp, distinct white wing patches. Appears to be original paint on the wings and old working paint elsewhere, old replaced bill, bark scar on back.
