The catalog record
Harry V. Shourds (1861-1920) Tuckerton, NJ, c. 1890 Red knot carvings by this maker are exceedingly rare with the majority of Shourds decoys fashioned as plovers, yellowlegs, and curlews. This gunned over decoy is a particularly fine example. Original paint and bill with light even gunning wear.
