Joseph Lincoln Mallard Drake
Joseph W. Lincoln (1859-1938) Accord, MA, c. 1925

The catalog record
Joseph W. Lincoln (1859-1938) Accord, MA, c. 1925 A rare and exceptional decoy by this famous maker. This decoy was found several decades ago in an antiques shop in Pennsylvania. This is believed to be the only full-size Lincoln mallard drake decoy in original paint known to exist. During Lincoln's lifetime, mallard ducks as a wild species were rare and the scarcity is reflected in the infrequency of which his working mallard decoys have surfaced in any condition. This is without question one of the very best duck decoys by this maker to ever be offered for sale and may very well be his finest puddle duck to have survived. Outstanding original paint and finish. Original crack in the neck has been cleanly reset with minimal touch up. Minimal wear from handling.
