The catalog record
Josh Brewer (b. 1983) Little Deer Isle, Maine c. 2009 15" long
Brewer, a highly talented wood worker and student of his surrounding nature, enjoys adding levels of creativity and skill to the art of bird carving and decoy making. Resembling a heart pattern when viewed from above or below, the decoys forward carved dropped wings are a beautiful touch of motion and depth. They extend out.75" from the body and flow backwards relief carved above the body to raised wing tips. The decoy is nicely sculpted otherwise and phenomenally painted. The head is turned gently to the left. Signed and dated on the underside by the maker.
Condition: Very good and original with some minor spots of discoloration and shelf wear.
