Hurley Conklin Bluebill Drake

Hurley Conklin (1913-1983) Manahawkin, NJ 15.75" long

Classic hollow carved Conklin body with a deep ice groove carved into the back starting at the base of the neck. The back paint is thick and combed beautifully. The wing tips have relief carving around the edge to give them a slight appearance of being raised. The head is in a slightly forward down position though relatively straight and has glass eyes and deep carving where the bill meets the face. The underside has the 'H. CONKLIN' brand as well as an inlet led poured weight.

Condition: Very good and original, some faint age spots across the head and body. The paint has mellowed nicely
