Bill Joeckel Green-winged Teal Pair

William "Bill" Joeckel (1921-2010) Islip Terrace, Long Island, NY c.1987 Drake 10.25" long | Hen 9.75" long

Rare pair of green-winged teal, both carved in the same manner with subtle sculptural details like wing pocketing, carved bill detail, and carved raised primary wing tip feathering. Additionally, the feathering in front of the speculums are relief carved in step down pattern as well. The drakes crest is rasped and has combed feather paint across his body while then hen is covered in an intricate series of hundreds if not thousands of tiny ticking brush strokes to delineate her feathering. The hen is hollow with the drake made as a solid body match.

Both bear the Bill Joeckel Decoys brand and his ink signature.

Condition: Both are in good original condition. The hen has a tight paint tightening line across her breast with a tiny line on the lower rear left and right, as well as a faint hairline check at the bottom left of the neck, all due to age, and a small pin head size paint flake on the tail edge. The drake has a small area of paint tightening on its breast, again due to age, as well as a couple tiny paint flakes on the tail.
