The catalog record
A. Elmer Crowell (1862-1952) East Harwich, MA, c. 1910 Crowell's miniature shorebirds were made in far fewer numbers than his waterfowl miniatures. This turnstone with its fine paint pattern, exquisite form, and early carving date place it amongst the finest shorebird miniatures Crowell ever created. "Turnstone" is written in script on the bottom. Outstanding original paint.
