Excellent paint protected by a thin coat of varnish. Slightly turned head, glass eyes, and carved bill. Due to the wood Chadwick used, they are predisposed to splitting, with this having a relatively tight split in the underside. Branded FOOTE.

The Foote rig was a working rig of decoys used by Enoch Warren Foote (1861–1934) and his son Robert Foote (1901–1953) from their farm in West Tisbury, Martha’s Vineyard.

Condition: Very good and original with a thin coat of varnish that has mellowed and tight but normal age check in the bottom and two on the sides. Shallow dent in lower back.
