Elmer Crowell Canvasback Drake

A. Elmer Crowell (1862-1952) East Harwich, MA, c. 1914 An early full-bodied canvasback gunning decoy with painted feather detail. This alert turned-head form has Crowell's finish rasping to the back of the head, along with carved bill detail. Oval brand on the bottom. Over paint has been professionally taken down by Ken DeLong to mostly original, with some touch up; light gunning wear; lightly hit by shot.
