A. Elmer Crowell (1862-1952) East Harwich, MA, c.1900-1912 22 ¼ by 9 ½ by 11 in.

Pre-brand Original paint with nice tight even craquelure primarily to the bird’s front third and back third emanating from the heartwood; tight 1/8 inch check along the underside to the middle of breast; minor even flaking to the back left side of the bird; minor rubs and even wear to edges of wing tips, tail, and bill; x-ray reveals a single stabilizing nail by the maker near the tail; bottom is painted brown with even wear.
