Luther L. Nottingham (1852-1942)(attr.) Capeville, VA, c. 1890 A carved eye curlew with raised wings and a "P" brand on the underside for the Purnell Collection. Staple holes in back indicate curlew wings were likely applied during use. Original paint with even gunning wear, chips to bill and tail.
