Mason Decoy Factory (1896-1924) Detroit, MI c.1895 18" long

Very early hand carved magnum Premier model black duck. Very large body dwarfing the size of other premiers with its 7" wide body, to the top of the head is 7.75" tall. The body has simple paint with green speculums and an exceptionally well sculpted head with original glass eyes.

Condition: Very good and largely original. Roughly a half inch around the neck seat and base of the neck, extending up to the cheeks, and the dark crest up the back of the head has been professionally touched up. A couple small chip spots on the tail has been darkened. Thin coat of varnish
