Mark Holland Medford, OR, c. 1976

The catalog record
Mark Holland Medford, OR, c. 1976 Each piece by this self-taught carver displays his unique style of subtle texturing and intricate oil painting to, as he puts it, "fool the eye of the beholder." Mark was featured as the "Master Carver" at the 2005 Waterfowl Festival in Easton, Maryland. In a dusting position, mounted on a wooden base with composite leaves and sand. The bird displays intricate incised feather and raised wing carving throughout.
One wing is slightly loose. The tip of the tail appears to be intentionally blunted by the artist to prevent breakage.
