The catalog record

George Boyd (1873-1941) Seabrook, NH, c. 1935 A miniature trumpeter swan decoy. Signed "George Boyd" and identified by the artist in pencil on the bottom. Many decoy collectors consider Holly and Birch swans to be amongst the most graceful ever carved. Although Boyd is not known to have ever made a life-size swan, this miniature captures the elegant lines in the same manner of these other makers. Original paint with appealing light craquelure.
