Mark Strucko Cary, NC c.2012 13" Recognized decorative carver who's competed in the Ward World Championships as well as a frequent carver in the IWCA (International Wildfowl Carvers Association) and has scored numerous ribbons. The Wood Duck is a life-size decorative competition decoy. The bill is carved to exacting life-like deatil, with the wing tips raised and prodruding from individual relief carved feathers. The excellent paint pattern assists in adding depth and the illusion of depth under carved feathers. The underside is signed and dated by the maker.
