Ken Harris, and his associates, combined to create the most decoys ever produced by a single shop in upstate New York. Though his styles ranged throughout the decades, they're all easily recognizable and represent the different eras of what decoys meant to hunters and collectors. Starting with roots in genuine working decoys that were simplistic to the strictly mantle piece birds that dominated production by the end.

Though some pictures of Ken Harris in the shop do exist, few, if any others, exist depicting him with a singular decoy and that singular decoy still being with that original photograph today. Photographed is Ken Harris with his first place blue ribbon holding this exact teal at what would have been an incredibly well attended Clayton Decoy Show. The teal represents what would have been about the best hunting decoy one could have purchased from Ken Harris' shop at the time. The body has a simple and effective form, and the top quality paint was meticulously applied with the gray body paint being tightly combed for texture. Genuinely this would have represented one of the nicest working decoys to be had at the time.

The bottom bears a classic Ken Harris white ink stamp, with the species name written in pencil, and Ken's signature in gold marker under the tail.

Condition: Near mint, tiny paint flaking on ridge of tail. Tiny paint flake under left eye. Faint 2.75" surface scratch on back.
