Eli Doughty Stick-up Canada Goose

While less prolific than his Cobb Island neighbors, Hog Island's Eli Doughty is considered to be one of the region's most important makers. This carving has pronounced raised wing tips at the end of a sharply ridged back. The large breast hosts a deep inletted head. Like a number of the best geese from Hog Island, it has a hole and weight on the underside for use as a floater or stick-up. Old paint with gunning wear and repairs to base of neck.
