The catalog record

Mark S. McNair (b. 1950) Craddockville, VA, c. 1990 This one of a kind decoy was carved out of an ancient piece of swamp cedar pulled from a lake after hundreds of years of submersion. A round-bottomed design, this carving has an inletted head, incised eyes, bill detail and slightly raised wing carving. An added feature by the maker is the delicate raised-feather detail located between the wings. Incised "McNair" on the bottom. In very good original paint with even wear.
