Shang Wheeler Wigeon Drake
Charles Edward "Shang" Wheeler (1872- Stratford, CT, c. 1935

The catalog record
Charles Edward "Shang" Wheeler (1872- Stratford, CT, c. 1935 The bird's pristine condition is partly due to the fact that it sat in the original newspaper packing from the time of its purchase at a 1970s Richard Bourne auction until recently. Terrific scratch feathering to the head and body, delicate bill carving, and inset paddle tail. A superb Wheeler gunning decoy that saw very little, if any, use. With ever-so-slight rubs to the bill, front of the head, breast and end of tail, overall near mint condition.
