John H McKenney Mallard Pair

John "Jack" Henry McKenney (1889-1973) Chestertown, MD 5.25" & 5"

McKenney was a shipyard worker and avid waterfowl hunter on the Chester River, particularly known for hunting canvasbacks. Beginning in the 1950s, he produced miniature waterfowl, that are recognized for their distinctive raised and undercut wings.

Both have carved wings with the drake having applied tail curls. Both have glass eyes and deep relief carving where the face meets the bill.

Condition: Excellent and original
