Edson G. Gray Bufflehead Hen

Edson Gray (1891-1982) Ocean View, DE, c. 1925 This decoy displays several fine traits often seen in fellow carver Ira Hudson’s work, including pronounced cheek, fine bill, and fluted tail carving. There are few noted decoy makers from Delaware. Though relatively unknown, Gray ranks high amongst historic Mid-Atlantic carvers. Still rigged, branded “P” for William Purnell Collection.
