The catalog record

Joseph Lincoln (1859-1938) Accord, MA, c. 1920 An outstanding Lincoln goose decoy displaying a warm patina with nice tight even craquelure and beautiful cedar grain lines. In original paint with near mint feathering and minimal gunning wear; a few areas of touch up include: a 2 inch section to breast, a small spot to one side of crown on head approximately 1 1/2 inches, and two small areas of touch up to the body each approximately 1 inch in diameter. The typical Lincoln crack stemming from the heartwood begins at the lower breast and extends the length of the bottom; even craquelure with minor flaking to white area towards the tail, initialed “JCP” in ink on the bottom.
