A. Elmer Crowell (1862-1952) East Harwich, MA, c. 1920 A rare, alert, slightly turned head, "Peep" mantle carving. Lightly blended feathering with warm patina on a carved rock base with Crowell's rectangular stamp on the bottom. Original with very faint craquelure on the breast. Minor touch up to gesso around the eyes, which are lightly cracked. Minor touch up to the legs and toes.
