The catalog record

J. N. Dodge Decoy Company (1884-1894) Detroit, MI, c. 1890 The widgeon is a painted-eye model with carved bill detail. The bottom is branded for the "Winthrop" and the "W. Endicott" early North Shore, Massachusetts, gunning rigs. The goose has an inset circular Martha's Vineyard-style weight and was last used as a brant. Both are in old in-use repaint with heavy gunning wear. The widgeon's head needs to be reset, filler is missing over a knot in the back, and there is a tail chip. The goose has an age crack along the back.
