Jules E. Frederick (1903-1980) New Orleans, LA 19" long
The son of Jules Frederick (1870-1954), a rice farmer and carver, and the nephew of the famed Mitchell Lafrance, Jules E. came from a lineage of Louisiana carvers. Though his work bears similarities to the George Frederick decoys, Jules E, are in many cases double or triple the size - and are some of the largest Louisiana decoys.
Condition: Even light wear across the surface, tight neck crack, with some other tight age checks in body
