Mason Decoy Factory (1896-1924) Detroit, MI c.1915 17.75" long

Working Premier Model black duck from the personal rig of S.B. Nickerson of Bath, Maine. Masons incredible production volume and advertising meant the Detroit based factory served waterfowlers all across the North America, as far away from them as Bath, Maine. Retains the hunters original rigging as well as Nickerson's brass tag. "AM" is also carved into the bottom. Condition: A mix of mostly working paint across the body and with mostly original head paint under a thin coat of varnish with spots of fixing throughout, including in use tail chip repairs. Bottom is repainted. Many locations of paint spliting and tighteningHunter added blue paint to the speculums.
