The catalog record

The Ward Brothers Lemuel T. (1896-1984) and Stephen (1895-1976) Crisfield, MD, c. 1966

A perfectly matched rigmate pair by the Ward Brother’s. Both birds are made of “life raft” balsa, with pine heads and inserted wooden tails. They are both over-sized life-like models made by Lem Ward. The hen has a particularly animated facial expression with a razor sharp bill. Both have had their keels removed. In excellent, original paint. The drake is in good condition with a neck crack and a few dings. The hen has a minor bill chip to the very end, a few rubs, and a slightly raised body seam along a lamination line.
