Harold N. Gibbs (1886-1970) Barrington, RI 13.5" long

Best known for his miniature duck and bird carvings, this is a rare example of his full size work. Generally miniaturists could make numerous, more profitable carvings, out of a single block required for a decoy.

The carving features raised and separated wings, a hallmark of his finer miniatures. A long crest that begins as a ridge on the head and flows in an arc into the back. The paint is soft and mellow. Condition: Original with minimal wear
