Dodge Factory Canada Goose

J. N. Dodge Decoy Factory (1884-1894) Detroit, MI, c. 1890 A rare Canada goose from this factory showing terrific form. This stately decoy has bright, exemplary paint as it was never gunned, having spent the majority of its life as a lamp base. The decoy exhibits glass pupils centered in white painted eyes, a rocked-back head, blended feathering with painted primaries, and barred tail detail. Strong original paint with light craquelure, even wear with some flaking, a professionally touched-up age crack along the back, and plugged holes in back, bottom, and under the tail.
