William Gibian (b. 1946) Onancock, VA 6.75" tall

Wonderful miniature example of Gibians iconic renditions of raised wing shorebirds. Carving and paint is very well executed with heavily detailed carved feathers on the bottom and top side of the lifted wing with primary feathers carved in the resting wing and carved tail feathers. Glass eyes with carved bill, standing on a carved shell base. Gibian carved into the bottom.

Condition: Near mint, paint flake at knee on right leg.
