Mark McNair (b. 1950) Craddockville, VA, c. 1975 33 in. long

A vintage Mark McNair carving and his first heron, it was made while the fledgling carver was still in Old Lyme and Essex, Connecticut. The underside of the carving bears an incised “MSM” signature. A McNair stand is available with the bird. Original paint with even wear and some cracks, including bill, left wing, and at the head-to-neck seam.
