A. Elmer Crowell (1862-1952) East Harwich, MA, c. 1920 14.75" long

Hard to find species with the much sought after oval brand on the underside. By this period in the Crowell shop, they had begun to turn their focus towards hot sellers like mantle-birds, decorative ducks, and miniatures, producing less and less working birds like this Widgeon. The head is slightly turned to the right and the head has the classic Crowell rasp on the back and carved bill details including the nostrils and billnail.

Condition: Structurally sound with a mixture of original and working paint.
